RWA protocol attacks reached 14.6 million dollars in the first half of 2025, surpassing 2024.

Hackers are increasingly attacking protocols for tokenizing real assets (RWA), threatening the blockchain sector that is strongly attracting institutional capital. According to CertiK, losses from RWA exploits reached 14.6 million USD in the first half of 2025, doubling that of 2024 and potentially exceeding the 17.9 million USD of 2023.

The RWA market is booming with a growth of over 260% in the first half of 2025, reaching a total value of 23 billion USD. Tokenized private credit leads with a 58% market share, followed by US government bonds accounting for 34%, thanks to the participation of large institutions and a clearer regulatory framework.

However, RWA faces "hybrid" security risks related to off-chain assets, including oracle manipulation, custody failures, and reserve proof fraud. The largest incidents in 2025 include Zoth losing 8.5 million USD due to a private key leak and Loopscale losing 5.8 million USD due to oracle manipulation, although 2.8 million USD was recovered.
